The time is right to back out from the shadows once again.
I’d like to welcome everyone back to my world. I haven’t blogged for such a long time, but I think I’m ready again.
My last post appears to be back in 2012 and since then it feels like a lot has changed. It does amuse me that one of my posts from the September of that year stated that I was settling into my new job and “definitely enjoying it”. What a misguided idiot I was back then, because with hindsight I can say it was probably one of the worst working experiences I’ve personally endured (this is comparatively speaking of course. There are people out there with truly horrendous jobs that I wouldn’t/couldn’t dream of doing). The daily bad atmosphere and stress I encountered was changing who I was as a person. I’d be miserable most of the time, thoughts of work would niggle at my mind even when I wasn’t there, when I got home each evening I didn’t really want to do anything nor did I feel like I had the energy.
So, in June of 2013 I handed in my notice. It was sort of a early birthday present to myself! I hadn’t got another job to go to and it was possibly a foolish thing to do career wise but I had to get out for my own sanity. A massive weight had been lifted from my shoulders however and I could tell there were brighter days over the horizon.
Luckily, about a week before my final day I was offered the position that I am currently working in today. My current job is closer to home, 99% less stressful, pays more money and the best part is I feel like me again, rather than a husk of what I used to be. I would say I’m definitely enjoying it (yeah, yeah, laugh it up future-me, you smug prick).
You may notice the site looks VERY slightly different. I’m just changing bits around till I’m happy with them, and there’s a chance it may change again. Wont that be exicting!
I hope you will join me in future posts (for as long as I manage to keep posting).
Something else I need to tie up is the Blood Bowl Fantasy Football Fantasy Football League. I would hate for anyone to think I’ve jipped them out of a prize. As the league stood at my last post Brad Joy-Clavis and his Southland Alliance were top of the league, so Brad please contact me through the site and I’ll organise your prize to be sent to you. If anyone is interested, this is what he’ll be receiving.
Also congratulations to my Boardgame Brother, Van Hemlock, for last place. I know he will take perverse pride in this. The Lipton’s is on me next time I see you.
