Today I’ll be showing you the Space Marine Chaplain on bike I converted a few years ago. The official Games Workshop model is pretty old now, and besides one or two details on it I’m not a massive fan. Also I wanted my figure to be a bit larger and more imposing.
So I raided my bits box and dismantled two normal marine bikes to splice together. I used plastic tubing to extend the front wheel forks and plasticard sheet to tidy up areas and add details.
I built the Chaplain himself separately for ease of painting. There are a few parts from the Black Templars conversion set on him, and I used the skull-looking head from the Chaos Warriors box, which are great if you are doing Chaplain conversions.
The banner is some artwork I actually created myself. I drew it up, scanned it and then printed onto tea-stained paper for the parchment effect.
I have a couple of pictures of the Chaplain next to a regular Space Marine Biker for size comparison.
It’s been a couple of years since I built this now, and my painting has improved a fair amount since then, but I’m still pretty happy with this model, oddly enough most impressed with the knocked down/shot up “STOP” sign I added to the base. It was about this time that I became more confident in converting models and using plasticard which has aided my hobby greatly.
Please enjoy the pictures.
